New Suzuki Swift Sport loses its roar but gains a spoiler. The old version had 187 horsepower

New package from Suzuki: the return of the Swift Sport name as a factory body kit

Suzuki has introduced a new factory body kit for the Swift Sport model in Japan. This kit was created by the company Awin and can be combined with other accessories. The price of the package varies from $1,200 to $2,000 depending on the options selected.

The Suzuki Swift Sport was a compact hot hatch that gained a dedicated following before ending its production last year with the special ZC33S Final Edition. No direct replacement for this model has appeared. The current version of the Swift has yet to receive a full-fledged sports modification, however, Suzuki has revived the Swift Sport name in Japan in a different format — as a factory body kit that can be ordered directly from the dealership.

History of creation and manufacturer

This package was previously previewed as the Swift Aero concept in April 2026, which, in turn, was based on the sportier Swift Champions concept shown in January 2025. The production version is manufactured by the Japanese company Awin and is sold through the official Suzuki Select Plus catalog at local dealers.

Package contents and additional options

The basic set consists of three elements: an aggressive front splitter, a set of side skirts, and a rear bumper extension — all finished in black. There is no rear spoiler in the kit, but buyers can add numerous accessories, including a black radiator grille, matching alloy wheels, carbon-look mirror caps, protective door handle covers, a unique fuel filler cap, hood decals, and stainless steel pedals.

The changes are limited to the exterior only, as the Swift receives no updates to its chassis or powertrain. Power still comes from a 1.2-liter mild-hybrid naturally aspirated engine producing 81 horsepower (60 kW / 82 PS) and 112 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT or a manual transmission, driving either the front or all four wheels.

Prices and availability

The Awin Swift Sport body kit is available for both new and current owners of the model in Japan, along with other original accessories. As for prices, the front spoiler and rear bumper extension cost 63,800 yen ($394) each, the side skirts are 70,400 yen ($435), and the full package is priced at 198,000 yen ($1,224). Additionally, the black radiator grille will cost an extra 22,000 yen ($136), and the wheels, valves, and center caps will set you back 96,932 yen ($600).

Last year, rumors emerged that Toyota and Suzuki were separately working on hotter models: the GR Starlet and a new Swift Sport respectively. Neither has been confirmed, so until one of them presents an actual car, the revival of an affordable hot hatch remains in question.

This move by Suzuki appears to be an attempt to maintain interest in the Swift model among enthusiasts who miss a true sports hatchback. Although technically the new Swift Sport is not a full-fledged replacement for its predecessor, it offers a visual update that may appeal to buyers looking to stand out. In a climate where the compact sports car market is shrinking, this solution allows Suzuki to stay in the game without investing in developing a new engine or chassis. However, without a real increase in power, this package is unlikely to satisfy true fans waiting for a genuine hot hatch.
