The New Toyota Fortuner Could Revolutionize the SUV Concept with Luxury Worthy of the Crown Model

New Toyota Fortuner Concept by Theottle

Digital artist Theottle has presented his version of the future generation Toyota Fortuner. This three-row off-road vehicle, based on the Hilux platform, received an updated design inspired by the Toyota Crown Sedan style. The new model is likely to retain a robust frame but with certain technical improvements.

Toyota offers a wide range of off-road vehicles in different regions of the world, and the Fortuner holds a special place among them. It is essentially a three-row variant of the Hilux – one of the company’s most popular pickups. Although there are no official statements from Toyota regarding a model update yet, Theottle’s renders provide an idea of the possible development direction.

Style and Possible Changes

According to the concept’s author:

Rather than pulling inspiration from other Toyota SUVs, Theottle decided to look to the Crown Sedan for styling cues.

The front end features distinctive “hammerhead”-style LED headlights, a massive bumper with a large radiator grille, and the rear stands out with full-width LED taillights. However, some experts believe the design lacks more “rugged” elements, such as underbody protection or extended wheel arches.

The Fortuner’s interior also needs an update, especially concerning digital instruments and upholstery materials. The introduction of a modern digital dashboard and improved seats for greater passenger comfort is possible.

Technical Aspects and Competitors

The new generation will likely retain the IMV platform but with certain modifications for improved comfort. Among the possible power units are a 2.8-liter turbo diesel with up to 221 hp, as well as hybrid versions that have already appeared in South Africa.

The second generation Fortuner debuted in 2015, and a facelift occurred in 2020. Now it’s time for a more comprehensive update that will help it compete with models like the Ford Everest or Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The new version is expected to retain its reliability but become more modern and comfortable.

Although this is just a concept, it demonstrates the potential development direction of the model. Toyota traditionally updates its popular cars gradually, so the real next-generation Fortuner might look somewhat different. However, it is obvious that the market demands more modern design and technology in this segment.
