In Germany, the Volkswagen Golf 2020 was captured without camouflage. The hatchback was spotted during a promotional photoshoot.
Judging by the photos, the new Volkswagen Golf 8 hasn’t radically changed, although you can see that the grille and LED headlights have become slimmer. It’s known that the car will maintain the MQB platform, but it will become approximately 45 kg lighter. Even the basic version of the Volkswagen Golf 8 will be equipped with a virtual dashboard and a large touchscreen.
The car will also feature a 48-volt hybrid system.
It is expected that the new Volkswagen Golf will be equipped with 1.0 and 1.5-liter petrol turbo engines, as well as 1.6 and 2.0-liter turbo diesel engines. The high-performance VW Golf GTI will receive a two-liter petrol turbo four-cylinder engine. The premiere of the Volkswagen Golf 2020 will take place in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Shortly after, the hatchback will go on sale.
