The first official photos of the 2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI, as well as the diesel GTD, have been presented. The novelties will be shown to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in a few days.
The new Volkswagen Golf GTI retained its 2.0-liter turbo engine, but its power increased to 245 hp. Later, the hot hatch will receive a more powerful 290 hp version.
The Golf GTD under the hood features a 2.0-liter 200 hp turbo diesel.
Previously, a 245 hp plug-in hybrid GTE was also introduced.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI is available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG robot, whereas the GTD and GTE are only offered with DSG. An electronic differential XDS is mandatory in all three versions, and among the options are adaptive dampers.
The new Volkswagen Golf GTI can be distinguished by its wide front air intake, body kit, and 17-inch wheels. Inside, there are sporty seats with signature checkered fabric and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
