A Second Chance for the Dodge Charger
The launch of the Dodge Charger Daytona did not go as smoothly as planned. Now the company gets a second chance, this time with a six-cylinder engine.
Power and Performance
The new Charger Scat Pack is equipped with a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine producing 550 horsepower. Orders for the four-door sedan are already available, and a test drive is scheduled for next week.
Dodge canceled the most powerful version of the Charger Daytona before launch
With 531 lb-ft of torque, a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 177 mph, this is the most powerful sedan in America priced under $60,000.
Pricing Policy
The base price is $56,995 plus a $1,995 destination fee, totaling $58,990 before government taxes. This is $2,000 more expensive than the two-door Scat Pack version, which costs $54,995 or $56,990 including the destination fee.

Dynamic Capabilities
The car completes the quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds. The all-wheel-drive system can switch to rear-wheel drive for performing drifts and burnouts.
Technical Equipment
The series starts with all-wheel drive and a rear-wheel-drive mode. Standard equipment includes Brembo brakes, a Line Lock system, and launch control. An active exhaust system with two modes is designed to improve the sound of the Hurricane engine.

Interior and Comfort
The cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, carbon fiber and suede trim, as well as sport seats upholstered in leather and suede. Production will begin early next year.
Future Models
The Scat Pack is not the only Charger version. The base R/T model with 420 horsepower will appear next year starting at $49,995. Currently, only orders for the Scat Pack are available.
We’re testing it – what do you want to know?
The test drive will take place in Knoxville, Tennessee. Readers can ask questions in the comments, which will be answered after the testing.

The arrival of the Charger Scat Pack with a traditional engine could be a turning point for Dodge after the unsuccessful launch of the electric version. Its price accessibility combined with high performance makes this model a unique offering in the American market. The manufacturer is clearly betting on emotions and driving excitement while maintaining the practicality of a four-door body. The success of this model could determine the brand’s future strategy regarding the combination of traditional and electric powertrains.
