Updated design and technologies
The Kia Stonic, which has been on the market since 2017, has received a serious update. The Korean brand has introduced a restyled version of this compact SUV, which includes significant changes to the exterior and interior to compete with other models in its segment.
Exterior details
The previous update of the Stonic in 2020 was minor, but now the model fully complies with the style of newer Kia cars, including electric versions. The new front end features modern LED headlights, a thinner radiator grille, and an updated bumper. In the GT-Line version, the bumper looks sportier, with different air intakes and aluminum protection.

The side view has remained almost unchanged, but new designs of 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels have appeared. The color palette has been supplemented with Adventurous Green and Yacht Blue shades. The rear has received C-shaped LED lights, an updated bumper, and cleaner lines.
Dimensions and interior
The new bumpers have increased the car’s length by 65 mm compared to the previous version. However, the Stonic remains one of the most compact in the B-SUV segment, with a length of 4,165 mm.
The interior has been completely updated: a new instrument panel and a digital panel with two 12.3-inch screens have appeared. The physical climate control buttons have been removed; it is now controlled via the central touch screen. The steering wheel has also been updated, and ambient lighting, wireless charging, and USB-C ports have been added. The trunk volume remains unchanged at 352 liters.
Technical updates
The model has also received connected car features and an expanded package of ADAS systems, which includes adaptive cruise control with navigation, lane keeping assist, and an exit warning collision avoidance system.

The restyled version is built on the platform of the discontinued Rio hatchback. It is offered exclusively with a turbocharged 1.0-liter T-GDI three-cylinder engine in conventional and mild-hybrid versions. The engine has been slightly updated and now produces 99 hp and 113 hp respectively. Front-wheel drive, transmission options are a six-speed manual or a seven-speed robotic.
Future plans
Kia plans to provide additional information regarding the launch of the updated model in Europe, Australia, and other markets in the near future.
The Stonic update demonstrates how important it is for manufacturers to continuously improve even successful models, especially in the competitive compact crossover segment. The integration of new technologies, such as mild-hybrid systems and expanded safety packages, is becoming standard to attract buyers looking for modern and economical solutions.
