Updates and Overview
Added live photos from Munich along with new details on the P7’s specifications and interior following its European premiere.
The innovative Xpeng P7 sports sedan officially debuted in Europe at the Munich auto show. As early reviews predicted, it looks unique compared to other electric vehicles on the modern market. Although sedans no longer dominate sales, models like the Xiaomi SU7 and now the P7 demonstrate that demand for stylish and high-performance four-door cars is still high.
Exterior and Design
The exterior design of the new P7 can be boldly called radical. It intentionally departs from traditional solutions, reminiscent of some elements of the Tesla Cybertruck. The front features a sharp full-width LED strip, complemented by vertical daytime running lights for a dramatic first impression. The rear continues this theme with a corresponding light strip, vertically positioned taillights, and a smooth glass surface instead of a conventional trunk lid.

Interior and Technology
The P7’s interior might be even more interesting than its exterior. The sedan is equipped with a massive 87-inch AR projection display, similar to the one recently introduced by Xiaomi on the G7 SUV. Also present is a sporty three-spoke steering wheel with AMG-style dials for quick changes of modes and functions.
Enhancing the high-tech atmosphere are carefully thought-out ambient lighting and a central information screen that tilts towards the driver. Behind the wheel is a slim digital instrument cluster, and the sport bucket seats feature active bolsters that inflate to hold the driver in place during sharp turns—a function inherent to some German premium models.
Performance and Range
The P7 will be available with two battery options: 74.9 kWh and a larger 92.92 kWh. The base configuration includes a single rear electric motor producing 362 hp (270 kW). For improved traction and performance, an all-wheel-drive version is offered with an additional front motor producing 224 hp (167 kW), totaling 586 hp (437 kW). This configuration accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 229 km/h.
Xpeng claims competitive range figures: the base model offers up to 702 km on a single charge, the long-range rear-wheel-drive version up to 820 km, and the all-wheel-drive version up to 750 km. Although exact charging times are not confirmed, the P7 supports the 5C fast-charging standard, like the G7 SUV, allowing for up to 436 km of additional range in 10 minutes.
Dimensions and Market Prospects
The sedan has a length of 5017 mm, a width of 1970 mm, a height of 1427 mm, and a wheelbase of 3008 mm, making it similar in size to the Tesla Model S. The second-generation P7 is already on sale in China with prices starting from 219,800 yuan (about $30,200) to 301,800 yuan (approximately $41,500). Details of the European launch have not yet been confirmed, but even these figures could make Western buyers reconsider value propositions, even if in China it sparks debates about long-term sustainability.
Electric vehicle prices in China have become so low that they are causing concern at the highest levels, which could impact global market strategies. Xpeng seems to be betting on aggressive pricing and technological innovation to establish itself not only at home but also abroad, especially in Europe, where competition with giants like Tesla and European brands remains fierce. The success of the P7 could significantly change perceptions of the affordability and quality of electric vehicles in the sedan segment.
