In the Belgian Abarth Works Museum, there is a very unusual VAZ-2103. The VAZ trio is equipped with an automatic transmission, reports Hyser. 
Moreover, it is not some prototype or homemade vehicle, but a quite serial model. However, such a VAZ with an automatic transmission was solely for export and was sold in Europe as the Lada 1500S Automatic. 
Moreover, the automatic transmission was installed on the VAZ in Europe.
The car was equipped with a 3-speed automatic General Motors 3L30, manufactured at a plant in France. This transmission was installed on many budget cars of that era. 
The Lada 1500S Automatic is equipped with the most powerful 1.5-liter engine in the lineup with 78 hp. Visually, the Lada with automatic transmission does not differ from the standard VAZ-2103. By the way, export VAZs with automatic transmission can also be found in our regions.
