One of these electric vehicles proves that true power cannot be faked

Tesla vs. Dodge: which is faster?

The new electric Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack has received mixed reviews. Critics highlight its weight, dimensions, and lack of fiery character compared to classic V8 models. Because of this, Dodge has decided to discontinue production of the base Daytona R/T version in 2026, leaving only the Scat Pack.

The publication Edmunds conducted a test drive, comparing the Charger Daytona Scat Pack with the Tesla Model 3 Performance. The competition included acceleration, braking, and track handling tests. The results turned out to be unexpected.

Price and performance

Tesla is significantly cheaper—$56,630 compared to $70,190 for the Dodge. Both models qualify for tax incentives, but the price difference remains substantial. However, the main focus is performance.

On paper, Dodge has the advantage: 670 hp versus 510 hp for Tesla. But in practice, the Model 3 accelerates to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, while the Charger takes 3.3.

During the tests, the Tesla not only launched faster but also continued to pull away at high speeds. It also demonstrated better handling on turns, despite the Dodge having higher lateral stability (1.19G vs. 1.13G).

The results were clear: the Tesla Model 3 Performance wins in both linear acceleration and overall dynamics. The Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, despite its power, couldn’t compensate for its weight and less precise handling. This once again confirms that electric vehicles can be not only eco-friendly but also more dynamic than traditional sports models.
