One Lancia Ypsilon HF is a true speedster, the other only imitates

Lancia Ypsilon HF: A Sporty Electric Hatchback

After more than a year of anticipation, Lancia has finally unveiled its new hot Ypsilon HF version. The premiere took place at the Italian Balocco test track, where the public saw the fastest and most expensive version of this model for the first time.

For those who prefer a sporty style without the high price and power, the company offers the HF Line version. It is available in both hybrid and electric variants, retaining most of the visual elements but without the technical upgrades.

Technical Specifications

The full-fledged Ypsilon HF version is equipped with an electric motor producing 276 hp (207 kW) and 345 Nm of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, although the top speed is limited to 180 km/h. The 54 kWh battery provides a range of up to 370 km according to the WLTP standard.

The chassis received an updated suspension geometry and a ground clearance lowered by 20 mm. The braking system was also improved with four-piston calipers and 355 mm discs at the front.

Design and Interior

Externally, the Ypsilon HF is distinguished by an aggressive body kit, 18-inch wheels, and a red HF logo. Three colors are available, including an orange that references Lancia’s classic racing models.

The interior features sport seats made from the ecological material Econyl, aluminum pedals, and two 10.25-inch instrument panels. Standard equipment includes wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a Level 2 driver assistance system.

Availability and Pricing

The Ypsilon HF will go on sale after the summer, while the HF Line is already available for order. In Italy, the full electric version will start from €39,200, making it the most expensive Ypsilon in history. The HF Line version with a mild hybrid starts from €22,450.

For motorsport enthusiasts, Lancia introduced two racing versions with 1.2-liter turbo petrol engines. The base HF Racing variant develops 143 hp and starts from €38,900, while the top Rally 4 HF with 209 hp and full racing preparation is priced at €74,500.

The new Ypsilon HF is an important step for Lancia in reviving its sporting heritage. The emphasis on sustainability is particularly interesting – from the use of recycled materials in the interior to the fully electric powertrain. At the same time, the retention of petrol versions for racing models shows that the brand is in no hurry to completely abandon traditional technologies.
