One of Ken Block’s Most Personal Racing Cars Has Appeared for Sale

A rare Gymkhana car, once owned and modified for the legendary Ken Block, has appeared on the market. This machine combines motorsport and the true passion of enthusiasts.

Technical Specifications and Modifications

The late rally driver and Gymkhana star purchased this Escort back in 2008. Later, the car was converted to left-hand drive and prepared for Gymkhana Grid competition by Quick Motorsport. Now, this compact model has very little in common with a regular road-going Escort and likely provides maximum driving pleasure.

During the transformation, the steel body was completely reworked and received a wide Rocket Bunny body kit with extended wheel arches, a trunk lid spoiler, and a carbon fiber roof air intake. The side windows were replaced with polycarbonate, and the car was painted matte black with an image of the US flag on the hood.

The Heart and Soul of the Car

Under the body, the Escort received a fully custom rear suspension with an adjustable anti-roll bar and WRC-style adjustable control arms. The car is also equipped with three-mode adjustable dampers with remote reservoirs and special underbody protection.

The powertrain is a specially built 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine from Millington Diamond. It features 16 valves, individual throttle bodies, and a Cosworth engine control unit. The engine revs up to 9000 rpm.

Unlike some of Block’s other cars, this Escort sends power to the rear wheels via a Sadev six-speed sequential gearbox.

The interior, as expected, is completely stripped of “unnecessary” elements. It features two Recaro racing seats, a new instrument panel, a Sparco steering wheel, and almost nothing else. Ken Block’s autograph on the driver’s door panel only adds value to this car.

This special Ford Escort is not just a car, but a piece of motorsport and cultural history. Its technical solutions, connection to Ken Block’s name, and extreme preparation make it a unique object for collectors and fans. Similar projects demonstrate how far one can go in modifying a classic car, turning it into a tool for professional competition and self-expression. The sale of such cars always attracts attention, as they embody the spirit of freedom and engineering mastery.
