In the USA, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L was presented. It has radically changed and will now challenge the Audi Q7 and Mercedes GLS. Sales of the new generation SUV will start closer to summer, and initially, it will be sold alongside the current model.
Jeep Grand Cherokee L Design
Let’s start with the fact that the new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has significantly grown in size – up to 5204 mm in length, 1963 mm in width, and 1816 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3090 mm.
The angular design is consistent with last year’s Grand Wagoneer concept car.
However, the car retains the distinctive Jeep two-box profile and signature grille.
Interior and Equipment of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L
The enlarged dimensions have allowed for the first time to make the new Jeep Grand Cherokee a seven-seater. Moreover, the trunk volume even with all three rows in place is 484 liters.
Among other innovations are a virtual dashboard, a head-up display, and a large 10.1-inch touchscreen. Instead of a gear lever – a rotary knob.
The basic configuration of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee now includes adaptive cruise control. In the top version Summit, there is electric drive and massage of the front seats, heating, and ventilation of the seats in the first two rows. Among the options are now 360-degree cameras, night vision systems, and semi-autonomous driving.
Jeep Grand Cherokee L Specifications
Initially, familiar 3.6-liter 290-hp V6 and 5.7-liter V8 Hemi with 360 hp will be offered. Both versions are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and three all-wheel-drive systems are also offered, with all featuring a low-range gear.
Additionally, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L is available with an air suspension that allows increasing the ground clearance from 211 to 277 mm.
