Special Car for the President of France
Renault has introduced a special version of the Rafale crossover for the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. This is not a regular production car, but a unique project with an extended wheelbase, armor, and luxurious trim. The body was lengthened by 48 mm for the comfort of rear-seat passengers.
The car is painted in an exclusive Bleu Présidence shade with a shimmering effect. Design features include tricolor elements, removable flag holders, and premium materials in the interior. Black marble from the Pyrenees and dark beech wood from a renowned master craftsman were used.
Renault has been supplying cars for the presidents of France since the 1920s, but this crossover is one of the most unusual.
The interior is equipped with ventilated seats, additional sound insulation, and a soft-close door system. Despite the 297 hp hybrid powertrain, the heavy weight of the armored car significantly reduces its dynamic performance.
This project continues the tradition of the French automotive industry, demonstrating a high level of engineering and design. At the same time, the choice of a crossover instead of a classic limousine sparks debates about the appropriateness of such a decision for official ceremonies. Renault proves that modern technologies allow combining safety, comfort, and style in unconventional formats.
