by The winners of the World Car of the Year contest for 2021 have been announced. The results were predictable.
The best car of 2021 is the new Volkswagen ID.4. The Volkswagen electric crossover surpassed the Toyota Yaris and Honda e (they took second and third places).
In addition, the winners in different categories have been announced:
- Best luxury car – Mercedes-Benz S-Class;
- Best sports car – Porsche 911 Turbo;
- Best city car – Honda e;
- Best design – Land Rover Defender.
The World Car of the Year has been held for 17 years. 82 automotive journalists participate in the voting. Last year, the World Car of the Year award went to the crossover Kia Telluride.
