Online Presentation of Octavia’s Younger Sister Named Skoda Slavia

Right now, a global presentation of the brand-new Slavia model is taking place, which can be seen in real-time (link below). The novelty will replace the Rapid and, in essence, will be the younger sister of the popular Octavia in Ukraine.

The Skoda Slavia is based on the MQB-AO-IN platform, and the model is planned to be produced in India, where Skoda, by the way, is a leader among European car manufacturers. In fact, the model is intended for this country. However, it should not be ruled out that sooner or later Skoda Slavia will appear in Ukraine or even be produced in Zakarpattia. But this is not certain, just an assumption.

One way or another, the published sketches of the Slavia’s exterior and interior confirm that it borrows obvious stylistic elements from other Skoda models. For example, the front panel will resemble the Fabia and will include angular headlights, a prominent radiator grille, and an impressive bumper. Additionally, Skoda has designed a sedan with bold lines descending down the sides, a sporty roofline, and sharp LED taillights.

Dimensions

  • Length – 4541 mm
  • Width – 1752 mm
  • Height – 1487 mm
  • Wheelbase – 2651 mm

The interior of Slavia will be very similar to the Fabia with the same steering wheel and the same basic combination of instruments, dashboard, door panels, and center console. Interestingly, Slavia will be offered with a 10-inch touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel is included as standard.

Local buyers will be offered two engines. The entry-level Slavia will be equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI engine with 113 hp. The top one will be a 1.5-liter TSI with 148 hp and active cylinder technology. Both engines will be offered with a manual transmission, while the 1.0-liter will also offer a six-speed automatic transmission, and the 1.5-liter will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
