The 2027 Audi Q4 e-tron was spotted almost without camouflage.
The car received new bumpers, an updated radiator grille, and a modernized interior.
An updated powertrain with a longer range is likely expected.
Exterior Updates
The updated Audi Q4 is almost ready for its debut, as spy photographers captured a prototype practically without masking. As seen, minor camouflage remains only on the headlights, taillights, and radiator grille.
Thanks to such incomplete masking, it’s visible that the electric crossover will get a fully closed radiator grille with a new wave-like pattern. The model will also have a more pronounced grille frame and a slightly redesigned bumper.
A closer look reveals updated air intakes and a lower opening with a new honeycomb insert. The headlights seem to remain the same, but the thin camouflage might hide minor updates.
Design Changes
The car’s profile looks unchanged, although we wouldn’t be surprised by updated wheel designs. At the rear, the designers added a more harmonious bumper that abandons the faux vent aesthetic.
Regarding vents, new ones can be seen on the outer edges, accompanied by a triangular accent. Furthermore, there is a new diffuser and camouflage hinting at updated taillight graphics.
Updated Interior and Technical Features
The spy photos didn’t peek inside, but previous shots showed that the crossover will get a completely new instrument panel with a separately positioned curved display. It is expected to mirror those installed on newer models, meaning the crossover could have an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger.
This will be a significant step forward compared to the current 10.25-inch cluster and 11.6-inch infotainment system. Besides larger displays, the crossover might get a new steering wheel and updated controls.
Powertrain and Specifications
The biggest mystery remains the powertrain, but we can likely expect an updated battery pack and more efficient electric motors. These changes can’t come soon enough, as the Q4 45 e-tron has an 82 kWh battery pack powering a rear motor with 282 hp. This allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and have an EPA-estimated range of 288 miles.
Upgrading to the Q4 55 e-tron quattro rewards buyers with an all-wheel-drive system with dual motors producing 335 hp. This reduces the 0-60 mph sprint time to exactly five seconds, but the range drops sharply to 258 miles.
The updates for the Audi Q4 e-tron look purposeful and aimed at maintaining the model’s competitiveness in the rapidly evolving electric crossover market. The increase in screen sizes inside aligns with the general trend of equipping cars with larger displays. Aerodynamic improvements and a possible battery update could significantly impact the car’s practical value by increasing its range – one of the key factors for potential electric vehicle buyers. The debut of the updated model is expected in the near future.
