Updated 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Showcases GR Sporty Style

The updated 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross has received minor changes to its exterior and interior design.

A new GR Sport version has been added to the lineup, which differs mainly in visual enhancements.

For the European market, two hybrid engines are available: a 1.8-liter and a 2.0-liter.

Although the Corolla Cross was never an exciting car, the 2026 updates give it more individuality. In addition to numerous improvements across all trim levels, the manufacturer has introduced a new GR Sport version. Unfortunately, it is not a full-fledged sports variant like the Lexus LBX Morizo RR.

External changes include a new honeycomb-shaped radiator grille, updated headlights with a more expressive design. The most noticeable new feature is the LED daytime running lights, which are installed only in the top High trim.

The rear has also been modified. The taillights now have small aerodynamic fins, which, according to the manufacturer, improve stability. Furthermore, all versions have received updated 18-inch wheels.

Updated Interior

Inside, convenient and aesthetic innovations have appeared: a larger center console, a new gear shift lever, wireless charging, a 10.5-inch multimedia screen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. The manufacturer promises improved comfort.

European buyers can choose between two hybrid powertrains. The base Hybrid 140 is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine and an electric motor with a combined output of 138 hp. The more powerful Hybrid 200 variant has a 2.0-liter engine with a system output of 194 hp.

GR Sport Version

The special GR Sport trim did not receive additional performance characteristics but stands out with its exterior. It features a unique front bumper and grille inspired by the GR Corolla design, as well as exclusive 19-inch black wheels and a special Storm Grey shade.

Although the engine remains unchanged, engineers have made some refinements to improve handling. The ground clearance has been reduced by 10 mm, the suspension and electronic control have been retuned. Paddle shifters have become standard, and Sport and Snow Extra modes have been added.

Deliveries of the updated Corolla Cross to European dealers will begin in mid-2025. The release date for other markets has not yet been announced.
