Updated Suzuki Kei Truck for $11,000 Gets Aggressive Off-Road Design

Updated Suzuki Kei Cars: Super Carry and Every Get Off-Road Style

Suzuki, a company known worldwide for its Swift and Vitara models, also produces a range of compact work vehicles for the Japanese domestic market. Recently updated, the Super Carry kei truck and its Every kei van have received a new accessory package, unveiled at the Japan Truck Show 2026 in Yokohama.

Off-Road Package for the Super Carry

The pickup presented at the show is based on the Super Carry X Limited version, which is the top trim level. It has been enhanced with glossy black accents, matching black steel wheels, and ‘Mountain Trail’ decals along the sides. This package is available exclusively for the Super Carry with an extended cab and higher roof. The vehicle is equipped with a naturally aspirated 660 cc engine producing 50 hp (37 kW) and a part-time all-wheel drive system with a differential lock.

The show truck also features the optional Hard Cargo kit, previously showcased on the Super Carry Work & Play Pro concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The main element is a roof rack that extends over the cargo bed, designed to facilitate the transport of long or bulky items.

Updates for the Every Van

The Suzuki Every van is also presented in the J Limited trim, which went on sale last year and is aimed at buyers with an active lifestyle. Compared to the standard Every, the J Limited version features glossy black bumpers and exterior trim, tinted LED headlights, side decals, and gunmetal-colored wheel covers on small steel rims.

For the exhibition, the 3,395-mm van was equipped with optional Hard Cargo accessories. Although Suzuki does not disclose the exact specification, the catalog includes cargo rails along the walls of the cargo area and a mesh shelf mounted under the ceiling. This vehicle is powered by a more potent turbocharged 660 cc engine, producing 63 hp (47 kW), with optional all-wheel drive.

Pricing and Availability

Most importantly, any Japanese buyer can order a vehicle identical to those on display. The naturally aspirated Super Carry X Limited with all-wheel drive costs ¥1,800,700 (approximately $11,400 at current exchange rates), while the turbocharged Every J Limited with all-wheel drive costs ¥2,132,900 ($13,500).

As for the Hard Cargo kit, it became available for both models earlier this year through the Suzuki Select Plus catalog, with prices varying depending on the selected accessories.

Exhibition and Other News

The Japan Truck Show 2026 will take place from May 14 to 16 at Pacifico Yokohama. Alongside the pair of kei cars, Suzuki will also showcase the fully electric SUZU-RIDE2, a four-wheeled scooter first presented at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Measuring 1350 mm (53.1 inches) in length, it is positioned as a way to make short city trips less burdensome.

Interestingly, Suzuki continues to invest in the development of its kei cars, despite the global trend towards electrification and increasing vehicle sizes. The presented Super Carry and Every versions demonstrate that even in the utilitarian micro-vehicle segment, there is room for style and customization. The Hard Cargo package essentially transforms these humble work machines into compact campers or outdoor activity vehicles, which could be highly appealing to young people and city dwellers with limited parking space. It is also worth noting that the $11,400 price tag makes the Super Carry one of the most affordable new vehicles with all-wheel drive on the market, underscoring its unique niche.
