Published rating of the most reliable Toyota crossovers and SUVs in history

The Hotcars publication used data on reliability, maintenance, and ownership costs from various sources, including JD Power, Kelley Blue Book (KBB), Edmunds, Repairpal, CarEdge, Car Complaints, and Consumer Reports (CR). In fact, the work is colossal, all to determine the most reliable models of Toyota crossovers and SUVs ever produced by Toyota.

Many already know that Toyota is one of the most reliable brands in the automotive industry, and its cars often rank high in automotive magazines. In a previous study by iSeeCars, dedicated to the most enduring cars, Toyotas received the most awards.

So, in the recent ranking, the first place was given by HotCars to the 2014 Toyota Venza. Apart from high reliability, this model also stands out with relatively low maintenance costs – averaging from 440 to 538 dollars per year.

The second place goes to the 2013 Toyota RAV4. Moreover, the RAV4 has high liquidity in the secondary market and the best residual value. The top three leaders are completed by the 2007 Toyota Highlander.

Are you also a little surprised by the first place? How can a car that has been produced for just over a year be the most reliable? It is somewhat disturbing that the good old 2000s Cruiser, if you believe the ranking authors, turns out to be less reliable than the 2021 Land Cruiser… And we also have a question: where is the famous Hilux, which the Top Gear hosts battered but couldn’t break.
