Rent a Jeep Wrangler 4xe from Hertz and hope you don’t get pranked

Hertz adds Jeep Wrangler 4xe to its fleet

Hertz is expanding its rental car fleet by adding the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This hybrid SUV is already available in major U.S. cities. In addition to the vehicle itself, some customers may receive an unusual bonus—a rubber duck, which is part of a tradition among Jeep owners. If you’re lucky enough to find such a duck in the cabin, it may bring discounts or free upgrades on future rentals.

The Wrangler 4xe is the most popular plug-in hybrid in the U.S. It is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. On pure electric power, the vehicle can travel up to 21 miles, with an overall fuel efficiency of 49 MPG, making it an economical rental option.

“Our partnership project with Hertz gives drivers who haven’t yet experienced the Wrangler a chance to feel all the benefits of this model,” noted Lucy McLellan, head of the Stellantis marketing office in North America.

This initiative not only promotes the model but also introduces new drivers to the unique culture of the Jeep community, where small details like rubber ducks create an additional positive experience. Given the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles, such steps could be a great way to encourage more people to adopt hybrid technologies.
