New Toyota FJ Cruiser: First Look
The automotive world has received new details about the upcoming compact off-roader Toyota FJ Cruiser. Recently published patent drawings provide insight into the model’s design, which resembles the official teaser from 2023. The launch is expected in 2026, with the vehicle featuring a ladder-frame construction.
Toyota has kept details about this model under wraps, but now more concrete data has emerged. The drawings reveal a compact SUV with five doors, boxy outlines, and characteristic off-road elements: massive fenders, thick pillars, and a spare tire mounted on the rear doors.
Design and Technical Features
The design of the new model adheres to the classic off-road style: plastic cladding around the body perimeter, high ground clearance, and the ability to fit rugged off-road tires. The model’s length will be approximately 4.5 meters, placing it in the compact segment.
It is based on the IMV-0 platform, which will also be used for the new generations of the Toyota Hilux and Fortuner. The model is expected to feature a 2.7-liter gasoline engine and all-wheel drive, emphasizing its off-road orientation.
Although exact details have yet to be confirmed, the patents make it clear that Toyota is preparing a true successor to its legendary off-roaders. The coming months may bring new teasers ahead of the official premiere.
