The rewritten title in English language, according to all requirements: Mercedes-AMG is preparing 27 new products to compete with BMW M

Mercedes-AMG has ambitious growth plans and aims to get closer to BMW’s M brand annual sales. Achieving this will not be easy, and it requires launching a series of new models that should greatly please car enthusiasts.

Last year, Mercedes’ sports division sold approximately 145,000 vehicles worldwide, while BMW’s M brand sold just over 213,000. AMG announced its intention to reach 200,000 annual sales by 2030 during a recent investor presentation in Los Angeles. To help achieve this goal, the company will launch over 27 new models over the next 36 months.

Growth plans and new models

“Our plan is definitely to grow,” said Mercedes-AMG CEO Michael Schiebe.

“We have made many, many decisions. All products are currently in development, and you just need to follow the news, because we will launch over 27 cars for Mercedes-AMG alone within the next 36 months.”

Electric vehicles and V8

One of the brand’s newest models is the all-new electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door. Equipped with three advanced axial electric motors, it develops up to 1,163 hp and will compete with the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. However, sales of both of these models have been relatively limited, and the same can be expected from the new AMG GT 4-Door. It will be followed soon by a fully electric SUV. Even more important for the brand are its new engines.

The first of these is the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft, first introduced in the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Although we don’t yet know which AMG models will get this engine, the CLE 63 “Mythos” looks like the first candidate, and there is hope that the C 63 will also receive it. The new, track-focused Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series and the GT3 race car, with which it will be paired, will also get this same engine.

Importantly, Mercedes-AMG will not rely exclusively on this V8, as it is also developing a new six-cylinder engine, reports Auto News.

As part of its growth plans, AMG plans to expand in the United States, where more than a third of its current sales occur. Additionally, the company aims to increase sales in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Interestingly, the company is betting on several technological directions at once: powerful electric vehicles with innovative motors, new gasoline V8s, and six-cylinder units. This strategy allows it to cover different market segments and customer preferences for those not yet ready to fully switch to electric power. At the same time, the ambitious goal of reaching 200,000 sales by 2030 looks challenging, considering that even the flagship electric GT 4-Door is unlikely to become a mass-market model. The main growth will likely come from new versions of existing models with internal combustion engines and the expansion of sales geography, particularly in the US and Asia.
