New Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid Gets Starting Price
Nissan has announced the starting price for the 2026 model year Rogue Plug-in Hybrid, which will be $45,990. This is $16,900 more expensive than the standard Rogue version, although they share little in common beyond the name.
The vehicle is essentially a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. However, the original Outlander PHEV is significantly more affordable: the 2025 model starts at $40,445 excluding destination charges. In contrast, Nissan offers only two trim levels, but they are well-equipped.
Equipment of the Base SL Trim
The base Rogue Plug-in Hybrid SL version includes options such as rain-sensing wipers, a power liftgate with a hands-free opening function, as well as 20-inch black wheels and mirrors with glossy black trim and integrated turn signals.
The seven-seat interior features a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leatherette seat upholstery. The driver gets a heated seat and an 8-way power-adjustable seat. The car also comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch multimedia system with support for Android Auto (wired) and Apple CarPlay (wireless). Standard equipment also includes dual-zone climate control and a wireless smartphone charger.
The vehicle features a whole range of driver assistance systems, including ProPILOT Assist, adaptive cruise control, and an intelligent around-view monitor with moving object detection.
Furthermore, the crossover has functions such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The list also adds lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic reverse braking, traffic sign recognition, and blind spot warning with intervention capability.
Luxury Platinum Trim
The higher Platinum trim will cost $49,990. It is distinguished by the presence of roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, and more functional exterior mirrors with memory settings and a tilt-down function when reversing.
The interior gains full leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, a memory system for the driver’s seat settings, a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, as well as a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system. Also added are an auto-dimming rearview mirror, tri-zone climate control, and LED ambient lighting.
Technical Specifications and Prices
Regardless of trim, all models are equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors, and a 20 kWh battery pack.
This provides the all-wheel-drive crossover with a combined output of 248 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The claimed all-electric range is 38 miles (approximately 61 kilometers).
2026 Nissan Rogue PHEV Prices
SL AWD Trim: $45,990
Platinum AWD Trim: $49,990
The stated prices do not include the $1,495 destination charge.
The arrival of the Rogue in a plug-in hybrid version expands the choice for buyers looking for an economical yet spacious family crossover with the capability for daily electric driving. However, the price position, higher than the original Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, may test the loyalty of Nissan brand buyers, who will have to weigh the benefits of more standard and possibly more prestigious equipment against the opportunity to save several thousand dollars on a similar technical foundation. The model’s market success will largely depend on how willing buyers are to pay for Nissan’s design and other attributes compared to Mitsubishi.
