Xiaomi’s first car challenges Tesla and Porsche Taycan (video) in English

In China, the new Xiaomi SU7 has been officially presented. The first car in the history of the Chinese corporation will go into production in the first half of 2024 and will cost about 35-40 thousand dollars in the base version. This was reported by Focus.

The new Xiaomi SU7 is a large F-class electric sedan that will become a more affordable alternative to the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan. The model was developed in 1000 days, and the entire project received an investment of 1.4 billion dollars. Xiaomi’s founder Lei Jun stated that the company’s plans include entering the top 5 global car manufacturers in 15-20 years.

Xiaomi SU7 car design

The Xiaomi SU7 electric car stands out for its streamlined design with a stretched silhouette, arc-shaped roof, and pronounced ‘nose’ with large droplet-shaped headlights. The rear part is slightly angular. The sedan not only has a sleek look but also stands out with well-thought-out aerodynamics: the frontal resistance coefficient is very low – only 0.195.

Interior and technologies of Xiaomi SU7

The cabin is equipped with a virtual instrument panel, a large 15.6-inch touch screen, and augmented reality projection on the windshield. The rear passengers have detachable Xiaomi tablets.

Sports seats are installed in the front row. The sedan has two trunks – a 517-liter rear one and a 105-liter front one.

Specially developed for the SU7, the Xiaomi HyperOS automotive operating system integrates semi-autonomous driving and automatic parking systems, and by the end of 2024, it will receive an innovative autopilot.

Xiaomi SU7 electric car specifications

The first Xiaomi car will be offered in two modifications:
– SU7 – rear-wheel drive, one 300 hp motor and 400 Nm, 5.28 s to 100 km/h, a 73.6 kWh battery, a range of 668 km;
– SU7 Max – all-wheel drive, two motors of 673 hp and 838 Nm, 2.78 s to 100 km/h, a maximum speed of 265 km/h, a 101 kWh battery, a range of 800 km.

The Chinese electric car has an 875-volt architecture that supports ultra-fast charging. In 5 minutes, the range can be replenished by 220 km, and in 15 minutes – by 510 km.
