The Road Service of Dnipropetrovsk region is preparing to commission the first concrete highway in Ukraine – the new N-31 Dnipro-Reshetylivka motorway. At the same time, the first on this highway will not be civilian or even military equipment, but… racing cars.

As reported by the agency Most-Dnipro with reference to the regional Road Service, the new road, which, by the way, will connect Dnipro with Kyiv, was decided to be tested with the help of Estonia racing cars. This is a series of racing cars that was developed back in the USSR. Five of these cars are located in the Dnipro museum Machine Time, and it is these that the road workers will borrow to inspect the quality of the new road.

As noted by the media, the length of the new construction in the Dnipropetrovsk region is 56 km, at the moment 28 km are already ready. Acting Head of the Road Service in Dnipropetrovsk region Oleksandr Kolomiitsev noted that the goal is to test the “overhauled” road at high speed. It is not reported how fast the cars will accelerate, but the maximum speed of Estonia cars is impressive – about 250 km/h.

Among those who will drive the cars will be veterans of circuit racing Oleksandr Medvedchenko, Volodymyr Havrilenko, Viktor Povarov. The test will take place on August 19 on the section of the road near the Dnipro-Donbas-Western canal.
