In Japan, the new Nissan Z Proto – the pre-production version of the future 400Z coupe – has been presented. The successor to the Nissan 370Z will go into production in about a year.
In terms of dimensions, the Nissan sports car is comparable to the 370Z – 4382 mm in length, 1849 mm in width, and 1311 mm in height. However, the design has changed, and in the large headlights and characteristic roof curve, the very first Nissan 240Z from 1969 can be recognized.
The interior features a virtual instrument cluster and a large touchscreen, but there are also classic dials on the central panel. The bucket seats are trimmed in leather with yellow inserts.
The specifications of the Nissan Z Proto are not disclosed, but it is stated that it is equipped with a turbocharged V6 and a 6-speed manual transmission. Most likely, the production Nissan 400Z coupe will receive a 400-horsepower engine from the Infiniti Q60.
