The revived Hummer has finally been officially unveiled. For those who don’t know, we say: the new GMC Hummer EV is an electric pickup that will compete with the Tesla Cybertruck.
Design of GMC Hummer EV
A single glance is enough to understand – it’s the new Hummer. The electric car features the familiar angular design with flared fenders.
The base includes diode optics and 35-inch off-road tires.
The transparent roof panels are removable (like on the old Hummer H1) and can be stored in the front trunk.
Interior and Equipment of Hummer
Edges also dominate the interior of the GMC Hummer EV. The car features a 12.3-inch virtual dashboard and a large 13.4-inch touchscreen.
The equipment includes the Super Cruise autopilot (they say it’s even better than Tesla’s). There are also cameras under the chassis to make it easier to overcome off-road obstacles.
Specifications of GMC Hummer EV
The first electric Hummer debuted in the top Edition 1 version for $112,595. It features three motors with a power of 1000 hp and a locomotive torque of 15,600 Nm. The Hummer pickup can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and cover over 560 km without recharging.
This version will start selling from 2021, and then the lineup will expand with new options:
– Hummer EV 3X ($99,995) – three motors, 800 hp, 12,880 Nm, range of 480+ km;
– Hummer EV 2X ($89,995) – two motors, 625 hp, 10,000 Nm, range of 480+ km;
– base Hummer ($79,995) – two motors, 625 hp, 10,000 Nm, range of 400+ km;
Naturally, all GMC Hummer EVs are all-wheel drive. The air suspension raises the ground clearance by 150 mm, allowing it to ford water up to 61 cm deep.
The highlight of Hummer is the fully-steerable chassis with CrabWalk mode: the pickup can move sideways to avoid obstacles.
