Chase After Mercedes at 212 km/h Because of a Job Interview
A 19-year-old driver in Connecticut decided that a job interview was more important than traffic rules. Police recorded his Mercedes-Benz E300 at a speed of 212 km/h on the I-91 highway. Attempting to stop the vehicle, patrol officers turned on their lights and sirens, but the driver only accelerated, dangerously maneuvering between other cars.
Due to the threat to other road users, the police terminated the chase. Later, they found the car’s owner, who reported that his relative – Azmir Djurakovic – was behind the wheel. The young man admitted that he was rushing to a job interview, which was the reason for such a crazy race.
“He was behind the wheel during the chase. His explanation? He was in a hurry because he was late for a job interview”
Consequences of Reckless Driving
Djurakovic was presented with a whole list of charges: negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to obey police, reckless driving, and other violations. After posting a $2500 bond, he was released, but he must appear in court on June 17. This time, hopefully, he will choose a safe speed.
This story is a reminder of how one thoughtless act can lead to serious legal consequences. The contrast between the attempt to get a job and the behavior that demonstrates a complete lack of responsibility is particularly striking. Police reports sometimes record surprising explanations, but this case stands out for its absurdity.
