Counterfeit Ferrari F40 Damaged a German Sports Car and Insulted Our Sight

Ferrari F40 Replica Based on Audi TT

A genuine Ferrari F40 remains a dream for most car enthusiasts due to its astronomical price. However, for those willing to compromise, an interesting alternative is offered in France — a replica based on an Audi TT. From a distance, it resembles a large-scale toy, but upon closer inspection, its origins become obvious.

Unlike most replicas built on the Pontiac Fiero platform, this car uses the body of a 2010 Audi TT. Only the roof, doors, and mirrors remain, while the rest of the body is completely altered. The front end attempts to mimic the F40, but with some deviations; for example, the engine remains at the front, not at the rear as in the original.

Technical Features

The rear end looks more successful — with a characteristic spoiler, round taillights, and widened fenders. However, instead of a powerful turbocharged V8, a 3.2-liter V6 with 247 hp is installed here, paired with a quattro all-wheel-drive transmission. The interior has likely remained almost unchanged, making this replica more practical than the original.

The seller is asking 14,999 euros for the car, which might seem like an inflated price for such an imitation. But considering that genuine F40s cost millions, this version could be an interesting option for fans of the legendary supercar. It is worth noting that the replica is located in France, and the deal does not involve haggling.

Although this car cannot replace a real Ferrari, it demonstrates how creative car enthusiasts can be in their projects. And if the original remains unattainable, such a replica allows one to at least partially feel the spirit of the legend.
