Police Exposed an Illegal Vehicle Dismantling Workshop
Law enforcement officers detained two suspects while they were dismantling stolen vehicles. The criminals used five different storage facilities to store parts and vehicles. The police managed to seize three cars, five engines, and numerous spare parts.
The incident occurred on June 30 in a storage complex in Bridgeview, Illinois. Police received a report from a witness who noticed disassembled cars. Upon arrival, officers found two people at work, as well as visitors who had likely come to buy stolen parts.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” stated Police Chief Ricardo Mancha. “Without the report from the witness, we might not have discovered this workshop.”
Cars and Parts Found
Among the seized vehicles are cars with V8 engines, one of which is so disassembled that it is difficult to determine its model. Police also found gearboxes, body panels, interior elements, and other parts scattered across five different warehouses.
The Bridgeview Police expressed gratitude to the witness whose call helped uncover the crime. Investigators are now working to identify all the seized parts and find their legal owners. This operation could help return cars to their owners, even if they require serious repairs.
Such workshops often operate at night to avoid attention, but this time the criminals were caught red-handed. The arrest was made possible thanks to the vigilance of local residents and the prompt actions of law enforcement. Police continue to verify information about the possible involvement of the detainees in other car thefts in the region.
