Porsche Has Not Yet Created a Successor to the 918 Model, But One Designer Has Already Tackled This Task

Porsche 960 GT RS Concept

Dutch studio Ugur Sahin Design has presented its own interpretation of a Porsche hypercar named the 960 GT RS. This digital concept is positioned as the successor to the 918 Spyder model but differs from the all-electric Mission X concept.

Design and Features

The design of the 960 GT RS combines elements of the 918 Spyder and modern 911 models. The front of the car features narrow LED headlights, large air intakes, and a sporty splitter. The car’s profile is accentuated by pronounced air intakes, sculpted side skirts, and ventilation holes. The rear end includes a retractable engine cover with numerous openings, a retractable spoiler, and an LED light bar similar to the one installed on the Porsche 911.

Designer Ugur Sahin describes the 960 GT RS as a hyper-GT that combines comfort for long journeys with incredible performance.

Market Context

Porsche has not yet confirmed plans for the production of the Mission X, while competitors such as the Ferrari F80 and McLaren W1 are advancing hybrid technologies. This may force Porsche to reconsider its intentions to create a fully electric hypercar. Demand for expensive, exclusive cars remains high, and Porsche could be missing opportunities in this market.

If the company plans to introduce a successor to the 918 Spyder, it should do so as soon as possible to keep up with trends and the expectations of the brand’s fans. Hybrid technologies are becoming increasingly relevant in the hypercar segment, and Porsche could capitalize on this trend.
