The new Porsche Taycan 2020 has finally been officially presented. After several years of active testing, Porsche’s first electric vehicle has become serial. In a week, it will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The design of the Porsche Taycan has long ceased to be a secret. The car practically repeats the pre-production concept car Mission E, and in profile, it resembles the Porsche Panamera.
The Porsche electric car reaches 4936 mm in length and 1966 mm in width with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. By the way, it is very streamlined: the drag coefficient is 0.22.
The interior of the 2020 Porsche Taycan surprises with an abundance of displays. There is a digital dashboard, a 10.9-inch multimedia screen, a touchscreen instead of climate buttons, and even a separate monitor for the front passenger.
Initially, only two top versions will be available.
The Taycan Turbo is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 680 hp and a torque of 850 Nm, while in the Turbo S, they develop 761 hp and 1050 Nm. In the first case, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.2 seconds, and in the second – 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed of both is limited to 260 km/h.
Both versions of the 2020 Porsche Taycan received a 93.4 kWh battery. The range is 450 km in the Turbo and 412 km in the Turbo S.
Charging from a fast 270-kilowatt station to 80% is done in 22 minutes. The car has a complex all-wheel-drive transmission with two gearboxes (1-speed in the front and 2-speed in the back). It also includes adaptive shock absorbers and active stabilizers.
You can buy the Porsche Taycan Turbo for 152 thousand euros, and the Turbo S for 185 thousand. More affordable versions will appear later, priced approximately from 80-85 thousand euros.
