by 911 Carrera T is a new sports car from Porsche with a lightweight design. In the model hierarchy, the novelty is positioned between the regular Carrera and the Carrera S version. However, the basic sports car Porsche 911 Carrera with a three-liter twin-turbo engine, producing 385 hp and 450 Nm, was taken as the basis. But while the Carrera is only offered with the PDK ‘robot’, the Carrera T standardly has a 7-speed ‘manual’. Although a robotic gearbox can also be ordered.
The sports car lacks rear seats, and the adaptive air suspension with damping system (PASM) is lowered by 10 mm. Thanks to this, the new 911 Carrera T embodies a driver-oriented character: fans of classic driving style will not only feel it on winding roads but will also hear it – the sound of the 6-cylinder boxer engine is now louder and sportier.
Acceleration – from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 291 km/h. From the Carrera S, the sports car borrowed standard equipment and a manual transmission, which are complemented by the Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) torque vectoring system with a mechanical rear differential lock.
The letter “T” (from “Touring”) symbolizes the unique format of dynamic Porsche driving since 1968: the first 911 T was available until 1973, and already in 2017 Porsche revived the 911 for classic driving, complementing the 911 Carrera T model range. Since then, the concept of a simplified yet exceptionally sporty car design has been successfully integrated into Porsche’s model lines: 718 Cayman T, 718 Boxster T, and Macan T.
