Porsche denies Taycan sales problems despite difficulties

Porsche Taycan gets new Black Edition

Porsche has introduced a new special version of the Taycan called the Black Edition. This model has received visual and interior updates, including glossy black accents and an upgraded Performance Battery Plus. The Black Edition is available for the Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S models in the US market.

The new version is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels, matrix-style LED headlights, and a seamless rear light strip with an illuminated black Porsche logo. Additionally, the front doors can be complemented with decorative stickers as part of the optional Black Edition package.

Interior and technical features

The Black Edition’s interior is executed in a monochrome scheme with black details and leather trim. Standard equipment includes 14-way seats, a Bose Surround Sound audio system, and an Electric Sport Sound system to enhance the driving experience.

For those seeking more personalization, the Sonderwunsch program offers additional options for the Black Edition.

All Black Edition models have received the Performance Battery Plus with a capacity of 105 kWh, which is usually an option. This improves range and dynamic characteristics, although power remains unchanged: from 429 hp in the base version to 590 hp in the Taycan 4S.

Deliveries of the new Black Edition will begin in the fall of 2025. Details regarding the price will be announced closer to the start of sales. This version could be an important step for Porsche in the context of growing competition in the electric vehicle market, especially after a certain decline in Taycan sales in the first half of the year.
