Powerful 690-Horsepower BMW M2 from G-Power Makes Even the CS Version Look Like a 220i

German tuning atelier G-Power has presented its new program for the BMW M2 (G87) coupe, which raises the engine’s power to almost 700 horsepower. The updated car is named the G2M Bi-Turbo.

Power Rivaling Supercars

If last year’s BMW M2 update with an extra 20 hp didn’t impress, and the CS version remained unattainable, G-Power’s offering aims to fix that. The standard BMW M2 produces 473 hp, and the CS version produces 523 hp. Both versions are very fast, but the tuner is targeting those for whom this is not enough.

Thanks to the GP-700 software and a series of hardware updates, the three-liter bi-turbo S58 engine now develops 690 hp and 619 lb-ft of torque. This propels the compact coupe into supercar territory.

Hardware and Software Changes

The foundation for the performance leap is a remapped ECU, which sharpens throttle response and increases torque while retaining the factory engine protection systems. To achieve this result, G-Power performs an ECU unlock, then installs its own tuning software, sport downpipes, a GP-Deeptone rear muffler, and a carbon fiber air intake system. The total investment in the upgrade is significant.

Specific acceleration figures have not been provided yet, but with such power, it can be assumed that the 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint will take about 3 seconds, provided the rear wheels effectively grip the surface. It should be remembered that the BMW M2 does not offer all-wheel drive xDrive.

Carbon Hood with Active Cooling

Although the powertrain largely mirrors previous G-Power packages, the new G2M Bi-Turbo looks much more aggressive. Its signature feature is the new GP-Venturi carbon hood. It not only has a stunning appearance, reminiscent of a race car, but also uses Dynamic Venting technology with Venturi nozzles to actively remove heat from the engine bay. The client can choose a full clear carbon finish or partial painting in the body color.

Complete Equipment and Legalization

The package is complemented by 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Hurrican RR alloy wheels, shod in Michelin tires. It is important to note that all these modifications, including engine changes, have full approval from the German TÜV inspection. This means they are legal for use on German roads and indicates a high level of quality and reliability of the work performed.

G-Power’s offering clearly demonstrates the vast potential for unlocking that is built into modern sports cars. Despite the high standards of factory versions like the CS, there will always be enthusiasts and specialists ready to go beyond. The legality of such modifications in Europe opens the way not only for improving dynamics but also for personalizing the car, where every detail, even a functional one like the hood, becomes part of the overall technical and aesthetic concept. This points to a mature aftermarket where power goes hand in hand with engineering soundness.
