Two Porsche 911 GT3 RS Crashed on Track During Rain
At the Assen TT Circuit in the Netherlands, during an exclusive track day, two accidents involving Porsche 911 GT3 RS occurred. One of the cars hydroplaned on the main straight and was hit by a Dodge Challenger. The second GT3 RS, in white and green, crashed into a wall during the same event.
As footage from the scene showed, the rain created extreme driving conditions. One of the Porsches, moving along the straight, suddenly lost control due to hydroplaning, lightly touched the wall, but was then rammed by another car that was also sliding on the wet surface. As a result of the impact, the front end of the Porsche was severely damaged, and the wheel was almost torn off.
Consequences for the Dodge Challenger
The Dodge Challenger that hit the Porsche also sustained serious damage. The side of the car was dented, likely with damage to the frame. The event serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving at high speeds in rainy conditions without appropriate tires and experience.
Although the event participants demonstrated a desire to push their cars to the limit, the incident became a clear example of how weather conditions can negate even the best technology. It is particularly striking that both Porsches, designed for track driving, could not cope with the water on the track, once again underscoring the importance of caution during extreme conditions.
