New Electric Mercedes GLC with EQ Technology
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new GLC with EQ Technology, which will be sold alongside the internal combustion engine version. This all-electric SUV will debut in the first half of 2026 and will become the successor to the less successful EQC model.
Exterior Appearance and Design
On the outside, the new GLC with EQ Technology has similar proportions and shape to the regular GLC but features completely new front and rear sections. The most noticeable design element is the reinterpretation of the Mercedes grille, now available in an illuminated version with 942 points. The headlights are also updated and feature starlight-like LED daytime running lights, which will become a signature element for the entire Mercedes lineup.

Interior and Technologies
Inside, Mercedes has installed a new seamless 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that stretches across the entire width of the dashboard. A complex ambient lighting system is also present, which can be added to the standard panoramic roof. The console contains two cup holders and two wireless phone chargers, contributing to a minimalist design.
Premiering on the new model is Mercedes-Benz’s 39-inch seamless MBUX Hyperscreen.
Technical Specifications
The wheelbase of the electric GLC is 117 inches, which is 3.1 inches longer than the ICE model. This improves legroom and headroom both in the front and rear. The luggage compartment has a volume of 570 liters, and there is also a front trunk with a volume of 128 liters.
All versions use a 94 kWh battery. The flagship GLC 400 4MATIC version produces 483 hp thanks to its dual-motor system. The range is up to 443 miles on the WLTP cycle, and fast charging with up to 330 kW power allows adding 186 miles of range in 10 minutes.
All versions come standard with a 94 kWh battery pack and a 400-volt architecture.

Suspension and Additional Features
Buyers can order the GLC with Airmatic air suspension, as in the S-Class, along with a rear-axle steering system. This system communicates with the infrastructure to improve comfort and uses Google Maps data to lower the clearance on the highway, which increases efficiency. Mercedes also boasted an improved regenerative braking system with four levels, where the highest level provides up to 300 kW of regeneration.
Availability and Future
Prices for different markets will be announced later. The new GLC with EQ Technology represents a significant step forward for Mercedes electric SUVs, combining high technology, long range, and luxurious design. Its success will depend on market reaction and competition from other manufacturers, such as the recently updated BMW iX3. The increased range and fast charging make it an attractive choice for those looking for an electric vehicle for long trips.
