We have already written about the crossover Hunkt Canticie, which is almost indistinguishable from the original. But the Chinese have gone even further – now even a keen eye might confuse it with a genuine Range Rover. It’s all about the badges…
The Chinese have offered a set of Range Rover insignias (for 20 dollars, by the way) for the exterior and interior. With these logos, the counterfeit Range from the Celestial Empire very much resembles the British SUV, although not from all angles. From the front and side – the similarity is maximal, but from the rear, the Chinese craftsmen “copied” strangely – it resulted in a mix of LR Discovery 5 and Range Rover Sport.
Inside, Hunkt Canticie is unique – the interior of the crossover is not at all like the Rangie’s cabin. Or just a little bit. There are also no technical similarities – under the hood of the clone is a 2-liter turbo engine (218 hp). The drive is rear (in base), at the top – full. It is unlikely that you can buy a “Chinese Rangie” anywhere other than the Celestial Empire itself. Price – from $18,100, that is, 10 times cheaper than the original model. By the way, have you seen how we converted the Lexus clone BYD S6 into a Lexus RX and tried to sell it to dealers at the car market?
