Himalayan G-Wagen with Diamonds Presented for $1.7 Million

The Polish studio Carlex Design decided to prove that luxury is not about reason, but about sparkle. And they created the Mercedes-AMG G63 Himalaya – an SUV whose paint contains… diamonds. Yes, real ones. About a kilogram of diamond dust was mixed with white enamel so that the car shines like an Instagram filter at maximum.

This creation is part of the limited Himalaya series, with only seven cars, each one unique, like an oligarch’s passport. The collection also includes the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, Range Rover Vogue, and even the Ferrari Purosangue. But the main star is the G63, which costs approximately $1.7 million or over 72 million hryvnias. For that kind of money, it seems you could buy a small village, but who needs a village when you can have a car that sparkles like the peak of Everest?

The body received a widebody kit, chrome bumpers, retro emblems, and wheel rims with white sidewalls – all in the style of “retro-luxury,” when people still considered chrome a sign of wealth. Inside – a real museum of materials: Himalaya crocodile leather, which Hermès uses for its Birkin bags, white and brown leather, Alcantara on the ceiling, handwork everywhere a master can possibly be squeezed in.

Carlex Design says that each of the seven G-Wagens in the series will be unique in the world – like a fingerprint, only more expensive. They were inspired, they say, by mountains, snow, and the sparkle of ice. Well, now we can officially say: Mercedes-Benz has conquered the Himalayas – albeit not on wheels, but by the price per liter of paint.
