In the first four months of 2025, Kia sold 21,994 K5 model cars.
The new K4 model is also showing high sales rates – 50,100 units have already found their owners.
High demand is also observed for the Sportage, Telluride, and Carnival models.
Although many automakers have long abandoned sedans, Kia continues to successfully sell this class of cars. Recent sales data confirm that attractive design and affordable price remain key factors for buyers. Since the beginning of the year, there has been a significant increase in sales of the K5 model, and the new K4 is also showing good results.
After a successful 2024, from January to April of this year, 21,994 K5 units were sold, which is 210% more compared to 7,086 cars in the same period last year. In April alone, 6,248 cars were sold.
The K5 model received an update in the second quarter of 2024, including changes to the exterior and a slight price increase. These changes turned out to be successful, especially in the American market, where midsize sedans are becoming rare but remain popular provided they are well-executed.
Kia’s total sales volume for the four months amounted to 273,649 cars, which is 12% more compared to 245,375 units in the same period of 2024. April became a record month for the brand with 74,805 cars sold, which is 14% higher than the figure for April last year.
Among Kia’s SUV models, the sales leader in April was the Sportage with 16,178 units sold (+18% year-on-year). It is followed by the K4 (13,097, +6%), Telluride (10,860, +21%), and Sorento (9,659, +11%). The Carnival model showed significant growth – 6,405 cars sold (+79% compared to April 2024), and overall since the beginning of the year, its sales have increased by 60% (20,977 vs. 13,126).
Kia electric cars are losing popularity
Only 232 units of the EV9 were sold in April, which is 85% less compared to 1,572 cars in April 2024. Over four months, sales of this model fell by 29% (3,979 vs. 5,579). The EV6 showed a decline of 68% in April (656 vs. 2,051) and 28% since the beginning of the year (4,389 vs. 6,110).
Some gasoline models also recorded a decline: Soul (-11% in April, -10% year-to-date), Seltos (-29% in April, -25% year-to-date), and Niro (-22% in April, -29% since the beginning of the year).
