Maserati sales have dropped sharply, so the brand is again releasing the same cars with new bumpers

Maserati updates its lineup: what is known about the facelift of the GranTurismo, GranCabrio, and Grecale

Maserati sales have dropped sharply, but the brand hopes to get a boost thanks to an updated lineup. Spy photographers have already spotted the future models multiple times, and now the automaker has officially released images of the updated GranTurismo, GranCabrio, and Grecale.

The company with the trident on its emblem has not revealed many details, but noted that testing in the Modena area includes city streets, hilly roads, and high-speed highways. They added that these drives are aimed at collecting the necessary data and information to ensure optimal final tuning of the cars.

Testing in the Modena area offers a combination of city streets, hilly roads, and high-speed highways. The drives are aimed at collecting the necessary data and information to ensure optimal final tuning of the cars.

Updates to the GranTurismo and GranCabrio

Although the official photos are blurry, they indicate that the GranTurismo and GranCabrio will receive a more aggressive front end with larger radiator grilles and updated air intakes. Other changes are limited, but one can expect a new rear bumper and minor refinements.

Given the relatively restrained update, it remains unclear how extensive the interior changes will be. Nevertheless, the current model still looks modern and is equipped with a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and a lower 8.8-inch climate control display.

Performance specifications also remain a mystery, but currently, the cars are offered with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 producing 483 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque, as well as 542 hp and 479 lb-ft. Customers can also choose fully electric versions that deliver 751 hp and 995 lb-ft of torque. This allows the GranTurismo Folgore to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 202 mph.

Updated Grecale

Changes to the Grecale appear equally minor: one can expect a new front bumper and updated air intakes. However, on the crossover, the radiator grille seems to remain unchanged.

Although the side skirts are camouflaged, they were absent on early prototypes and appear to replicate those fitted on the current Grecale Trofeo. Nevertheless, it seems designers have installed a new rear bumper and diffuser. Also, do not be surprised by the appearance of modified wheels and other minor tweaks.

Spy photographers have already captured an image of the interior, and it suggests that the only change might be a digital clock on the crossover’s dashboard.

Under the hood, one can expect a familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. It currently offers power outputs of 385 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, as well as 523 hp and 457 lb-ft. Maserati also offers an electric version with 542 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque.

The Maserati lineup update looks like an attempt to rectify the sales drop without resorting to radical changes. The mild facelift is likely aimed at refreshing the cars’ appearance and attracting buyers who may have lost interest in the brand. Given that the technical specifications remain almost unchanged, the main focus is on design and minor improvements. This could be a smart move to maintain model recognition, but also risky, as competitors offer more substantial updates. Whether this will help Maserati regain lost market positions remains to be seen, but the first official images indicate a cautious approach by the Italian manufacturer to updating its lineup.
