Sales of One of Ford’s Most Popular Models Plunged Sharply in July

Bronco Sport Sales Fell in July Despite Overall Growth

The Bronco Sport, the smaller sibling of the full-size Bronco, had shown stable sales throughout the first seven months of 2025. The overall growth was 13.9% compared to the same period last year — 83,376 vehicles sold versus 73,203. However, in July, the model unexpectedly lost ground.

Bronco Sport sales in July fell by 18.7%: only 10,938 units were sold, whereas in July 2024 this figure was 13,449. This is the worst result among all current Ford models. The only other car with a sales decline was the Maverick, while other models, especially large SUVs, showed significant growth.

Ford’s Large SUVs Continue to Gain Momentum

The full-size Bronco grew by 55% in July (13,798 units), the Explorer by 46.2% (18,837 units), and the Expedition by 50.9% (7,518 units). Overall, for the 2025 year, the Bronco is showing an impressive result: 85,861 units sold (+45% compared to the same period in 2024).

At the same time, Lincoln is having sales problems with the Corsair (-16.2% in July) and the Nautilus (-11.5% in July). However, the Aviator compensated for these losses, showing growth of 298.4% — 1,470 units versus 369 in July 2024.

This dynamic indicates a shift in buyer priorities: large SUVs remain trendy, while compact models may be losing popularity due to economic factors or competitor updates. The success of the Aviator is particularly impressive, as it seems to have found its niche in the market.
