Five Supercars Were Out of the Race Even Before the Start of the Main Monterey Car Week Events

Police Stopped a Supercar Column in Monterey

Every year during Monterey Car Week, police actively monitor speed on the roads. This year, patrol officers stopped five supercars that were violating the speed limit. Among them were a Mercedes-Benz SLS, a Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, a Porsche 911, and a Lamborghini Aventador. Similar incidents happen every year – last year, law enforcement fined nine cars.

Representatives of the California Highway Patrol urged drivers to be more careful:

“Whether you are a tourist enjoying the scenery or a local resident – remember: reckless driving and speeding endanger everyone. Slow down and follow the rules to keep Monterey’s roads safe.”

Monterey Car Week lasts more than a week, and during this time, premieres of new models from famous automakers are expected. The police are preparing for increased traffic and are stepping up control over compliance with traffic rules.

This event is a reminder that even for owners of exclusive cars, the rules remain unchanged. Local residents and event organizers have repeatedly emphasized the need to maintain safety during mass gatherings of car enthusiasts.
