Ram is preparing a rugged midsize pickup for release, which will not go on sale

New Ram Pickup for South America

Stellantis is preparing to launch a new Ram pickup for the South American market. The car has received a robust design and will likely use the same platform as the Fiat Titano and Peugeot Landtrek models. Production will begin in Argentina.

From the first teasers, it is clear that the pickup will have an aggressive look: full-size LED headlights, a massive radiator grille, and additional light elements on the hood. The Ram Turbo version will also receive special styling, including off-road tires and sporty exterior elements.

Technical Features

It is based on a frame chassis of Chinese origin, which is already used in other Stellantis models. The pickup is expected to receive a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine with a power of 197 hp (200 PS) and a torque of 450 Nm. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The new model will be positioned above the Rampage and will compete with the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Volkswagen Amarok.

Although this pickup is aimed at the South American market, Ram also plans to introduce a new model for North America. Its production may begin in 2027 at a plant in Illinois.

The official presentation of the South American version will take place on August 13th. The pickup will differ from its Fiat and Peugeot counterparts with a more premium interior and additional options. This could become a serious argument in the fight for a place in a market dominated by time-tested models.
