Ram Celebrates Total Lunar Eclipse with Special Edition Trucks
A total lunar eclipse is a spectacle that can be seen only once every few years. One such eclipse is happening right now, and according to NASA, the Moon takes on a “coppery-red hue,” which is why it is sometimes called a “blood moon.”
To mark this event, Ram is introducing the Lunar Edition for its heavy-duty 2500 Rebel and Power Wagon pickups. These special editions will be available for order this very month.
Moon-Inspired Exterior
The exterior appearance of the new models is inspired by lunar themes. The color scheme combines ceramic gray paint with a pearl black coating on the lower body. The package also includes a body-colored grille, side graphics, and 17- or 20-inch black wheels.
Velvet Black Interior with Copper Accents
The dark theme continues inside, where black Natura Plus leather seats with embossed Rebel or Power Wagon logos are installed. They are complemented by contrasting Copperhead Orange stitching, a subtle nod to the “blood moon.” Among other features are a Mopar in-console safe and a special console badge with a black design and matte chrome “Power Wagon” or “Rebel” lettering.
The $1,995 Lunar Edition package is offered for Rebel and Power Wagon models.
Technology and Utility Enhancements
The Lunar Edition versions are based on the Level 2 Equipment Group trim, which adds a number of premium features. These include a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 multimedia system, a 10.25-inch display for the front passenger, and a premium 17-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Also included are a sport hood, protective body cladding, a passive entry system, rain sensors, and a retractable bed step.
The Power Wagon model goes further, receiving rock rails and a Warn winch with a 12,000-pound (5,443 kg) capacity. The Rebel, on the other hand, is equipped with retractable running boards, convenient for urban use.

Pricing and Powertrains
The Lunar Edition package costs $1,995. Thus, the total price for the Power Wagon is $86,385, and for the Rebel, it is $93,885 (including destination). The Power Wagon is equipped with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 gasoline engine producing 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque.
The Rebel offers an upgrade to a 6.7-liter inline-six Cummins turbo diesel. Its power is 430 horsepower, and the main advantage is the colossal torque of 1,075 lb-ft, making this model exceptionally powerful for towing.
The release of these special series is part of a trend among automakers to create unique, limited editions of their models, often tying them to specific events or phenomena. Such steps not only increase interest in the model lineup but also allow companies to test market reaction to new design solutions and equipment, while staying within the existing platform. It also demonstrates how the automotive industry can creatively interpret even phenomena like astronomical events, turning them into marketing opportunities and collector products.
