Ram finally gives fans what they’ve been waiting for so long

Ram brings back the Hemi V8 for the 2026 model

Not long ago, the Hemi V8 engine was considered an endangered species. It was removed from the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2025 Ram 1500, where only six-cylinder engines remained. This decision sparked a wave of outrage among fans.

We made a mistake by abandoning the Hemi

Now the company has acknowledged its error. The engine is returning to the Big Horn, Express, Laramie, Limited, Longhorn, Rebel, Tradesman, and Warlock trims. It remains the same—with cylinder deactivation, eTorque hybrid technology, and outputs of 395 hp and 410 lb-ft.

New technologies and design

However, there are also changes in the new model. The classic “HEMI” badges on the fenders have been replaced with a new symbol—a ram’s head on the cylinder block. This design choice echoes the styling of the Hellcat and Demon.

For those seeking more power, Ram offers a turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane engine with two variants: 420 hp or 540 hp in the top version. It is installed in the Limited, Longhorn, Tungsten, and RHO trims.

The return of the Hemi is not just a marketing move. Ram expects strong demand for this version, especially among those who appreciate the classic power of a V8. Customers can already place orders, with the first deliveries starting this summer.

Interestingly, despite the return of the iconic engine, engineers continue to develop more efficient turbocharged options. This shows how automakers are balancing tradition and innovation in a world where environmental regulations are becoming increasingly strict.
