Land Rover is actively working on updating its flagship. Here are the main expected innovations:
Update for the Fifth Generation
Land Rover is working on an electric Range Rover, and it seems this model will be accompanied by an updated version of the conventional SUV. A prototype was recently spotted near the Arctic Circle, and these changes are intended to help the fifth-generation Range Rover remain relevant for many more years.
Exterior Changes
The car, disguised in black-and-white camouflage film, is easily recognizable, but it will obviously receive an updated radiator grille and new headlights. The lower part of the bumper will also be modernized, although this looks more like an evolutionary refinement than a revolutionary change.

At this stage, no other changes are visible, but the production model may receive updated rear lights and a modified rear bumper. The possibility of other minor refinements, such as new wheel designs or updated front door trim, is also not surprising.
Expectations for the Interior and Technology
Spy photographers did not get a good look at the interior but noted it was completely camouflaged. This indicates upcoming updates, although their scale is still unknown. However, at a minimum, an updated multimedia system and enhanced driver assistance technologies can be expected.
Powertrains
Powertrain updates are also possible, although there is no specific information yet. The current model offers a whole range of engines, including a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 395 hp and 550 Nm of torque.
Customers can also get a version with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, delivering 523 hp and 749 Nm of torque. There is also a plug-in hybrid with 543 hp and an all-electric range of about 80 kilometers.
Future Electric Version
They will be joined by the aforementioned Range Rover Electric, which will have a 117 kWh battery pack and an all-wheel-drive system with two electric motors. The total system output is reported to be around 542 hp and 849 Nm of torque.
The appearance of the updated version alongside the fully electric model clearly indicates Land Rover’s strategy of gradually modernizing the iconic SUV while simultaneously expanding its electric family. This allows the brand to meet the demand of both traditional enthusiasts and those ready to switch to electric vehicles, while preserving the car’s key features. Cold-weather testing conditions are also traditionally used to verify the reliability of both battery systems and new components under challenging operating conditions.
