A Nostalgic Flagship
Land Rover is appealing to nostalgia by introducing a new special edition of its flagship sport model range, which will be available exclusively in the United Kingdom. The Range Rover Sport SV Ultimate Edition is a tribute to the original 2015 SVR model and has received one of the most recognizable colors from the brand’s palette.
A Nod to the Past
The main feature is the return of the Velocity Blue Gloss shade, which appears for the first time on the current generation Range Rover Sport SV. This is a reference to the old SVR, although the company will also offer the Ultimate Edition in Obsidian Black Satin or Ethereal Frost Satin colors for those who prefer a more understated or “icy” look.
The colors are combined with a black roof and pillars, matching the color of the emblems and exterior accents. Furthermore, the SUV received 23-inch forged alloy wheels, which can be painted in dark gray or black, complemented by blue or black brake calipers.
A Thoughtful Interior
The interior is upholstered in perforated Windsor leather in Light Cloud and Ebony colors, and a panoramic roof is included as standard. The special edition retains all the high-tech features of the SV model, including the 29-speaker Meridian audio system and “Body and Soul Seats,” which use tactile transducers to allow you to feel the bass of the music through your spine.
Technical Specifications and Performance
The Ultimate Edition does not receive any mechanical updates compared to the standard SV. This means it is still equipped with the familiar BMW engines—a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with a mild hybrid system generating 626 hp (467 kW) and 750 Nm of torque. When using the Dynamic Launch mode, this torque figure increases to 800 Nm thanks to assistance from the electric motor.
The SUV may not have the SVR badge, but this power is enough for a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). It is also equipped with a 6D Dynamics suspension with a hydraulically linked system, designed to defy the laws of physics.
For comparison, the original SVR was equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine from Jaguar, which produced 550 hp (558 PS) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque, although the Ultimate Edition version of that model increased to 567 hp (575 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). The old model accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and had a top speed of 162 mph (260 km/h).
For the UK Only
The 2026 Range Rover SV Ultimate Edition is not a global release, as the company will produce only 500 units for the UK market. The privilege of owning the latest tribute to the SVR starts from £145,995. Since the buyers will be local residents, they will also receive VIP service when collecting the car at the Range Rover studio in Solihull, including a track session.
The release of a limited series for a single market is part of the brand’s strategy aimed at maintaining exclusivity and high residual value for its most powerful models. It also demonstrates how modern technologies, such as hybrid systems and complex suspensions, allow for significant performance improvements even compared to recent “charged” versions. Such steps often precede a refresh of the entire model range or the introduction of new technologies into mass production.
