Return of the Solitaire Program with a Veyron Tribute
Bugatti continues to honor its history. Just hours before the official premiere, a full image of the Veyron FKP Hommage model, a modern reinterpretation of the first series-production Bugatti of the Volkswagen era, leaked online. This happened thanks to an Instagram user.
This is already the second model created under the Bugatti Solitaire program after the Brouillard, and it has a deeply personal character. The initials FKP in the name refer to Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the head of the Volkswagen Group, whose persistent vision helped turn the wild idea of the Veyron into series-production reality.
Design and Technical Features
Visually, the car with its two-tone red and black paint and polished wheels looks exactly like the 2003 EB16/4 Veyron concept. In a few hours, we will see the updated Veyron in full and learn what mechanical changes the designers and engineers from Molsheim have made under the carbon body. However, there is already information about one key borrowing the supercar has from models that appeared after the Veyron production ended in 2015.
The series-production Veyron produced an incredible 987 hp from its quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine at the time, and later Super Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse versions developed 1184 hp. However, as reported, the Veyron FKP Hommage will receive the most powerful road-legal version of this now-discontinued W16 engine from the Chiron Super Sport 300+, delivering an impressive 1578 horsepower.
Expected Performance
With such power, the FKP model should easily surpass the original Veyron’s top speed of 253 mph. Of course, it is unlikely to match the Chiron 300+’s figure of 305 mph, which required a special low-drag body.

An update to this story will come later today when Bugatti discloses all the details about the FKP, including a full set of images showing the interior, and confirms or denies the rumors of 1578 hp.
The creation of such special models as the Veyron FKP Hommage underscores how important the original Veyron was to the brand and the entire automotive world. It not only set new performance standards in its time but also remains a symbol of technical audacity. Returning to its design with modern Chiron technology demonstrates a respectful attitude towards heritage and the ability to combine the past with the future. It also shows that the era of huge multi-cylinder engines, even after their official end, continues to live on in such unique projects, becoming a rare collectible artifact.
