In the USA, the famous Ruf CTR Yellow Bird 1989 was put up for auction at RM Auctions. The tuned Porsche 911 coupe was released in only 29 units.

Ruf CTR Yellow Bird is one of the most famous Porsches of the 80s. It is based on the standard 911 Carrera coupe, but its engine was bored to 3.4 liters and complemented with two turbines, a pair of intercoolers, and fuel injection from the racing Porsche 956.

The result is 469 hp and 553 Nm of torque. With a 5-speed manual transmission, the Ruf CTR Yellow Bird accelerated to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reached 342 km/h, making it one of the fastest cars of its time.

Unlike later Ruf Porsches, this car looks quite restrained. It can be distinguished mainly by its modest body kit and rear spoiler in the style of the Porsche 911 Turbo.
